THE LAPAS

Our Lapas are made of treated poles, treated lattes and thatch. These materials are assembled together to form a masterpiece. No details are left out. The best artisans of South Africa make their country proud with every project that they complete with Thatch Right.

The word "Right" of our company name expresses that we do our workmanship correctly and each project is personally supervised by management.

The scientific name for the "Thatch Reed" is Eligia Tectorum. Eligia is a Latin word meaning "song of lamentation" and Tectorum means "roofing" which comes from the fact that the plant was, and still is used as a roofing material. This reed is unique to the Western and Eastern Cape extending from Clanwilliam to Port Elizabeth The Thatch we use is harvested in the Albertinia region.
